On September 25, million-kilowatt nuclear steam generator's first set of domestic 690 alloy U-shaped heat exchanger installation ceremony is held in Dongfang Electric (Guangzhou) Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd..Manufactured by Baosteel, 690 U-shaped tube is successfully set in Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Unit 1 No. 1 evaporator.This is the first time that nuclear 690 U-shaped tube is installed and applied in China's nuclear power generating unit since its localization as well as the first time that domestic material goes into the "core" unit.
Nuclear evaporator 690 U-shaped tube is million-kilowatt nuclear power unit key special material and represents the top level in international nuclear power tube manufacturing. Previously, only three companies in the world: in France, Japan, Sweden have the bulk supply capacity. To break the foreign monopoly in nuclear power evaporator heat transfer tube and walk the road of independent innovation, based on the present special alloy smelting, special alloy forging production lines, Baosteel builds hot extrusion production line. Meanwhile, Baosteel Special Material, Jiangsu Yinhuan and Guangdong Nuclear Power Group Co., Ltd. co-fund the establishment of Baoyin Special Steel Tube Co., Ltd.. In December 2009, the country's only special production line which can produce nuclear evaporator heat transfer tube with 690 alloy is built. Dongfang Heavy Machinery belongs to Dongfang Electric. As domestic nuclear equipment manufacturing base and the birthplace of the first domestic manufactured million-kilowatt nuclear power steam generator and pressure container, it gives full support to the development of domestic 690 U-shaped tube, is involved in the research program demonstration, technical requirement development, trial preparation and acceptance in the entire process and it is the first to make commitment to use domestic 690 U-shaped tube. By the end of 2010, Baosteel and Dongfang Heavy Machinery sign Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Project No. 1 Unit steam generator tube bundle contract. Earlier this year, Baosteel successfully completes delivery of the first set of 150 t 690 U-shaped tubes and achieves localization and industrialization of nuclear evaporator heat transfer tube. Baosteel has established a the perfect nuclear quality assurance system, each one of the finished tube is marked with a "birth certificate".
